ARTIST'S STATEMENT

Along with the idea of working subconsciously, my work also indulges in a very ordered process.
The scientific process, or in other words, a highly structured step-by-step process of creating,
is then contrasted with randomly interchangeable variables. These variables are distinguished before the process endures, however are interchangeable from edition to edition. This in itself creates a contradiction of thought, yet visually is fluid as an abstract work of art.

As the key to my creative process is simply the ‘process’, I fulfill my need to create through the process, not the finished product. My work becomes a reflection of its individual creative process, rather than a goal worked towards by the process. In other words the final work is a product of following the steps, not a mission with the steps set up to attain that conclusion. I have no idea what the finished product will look like at any point during the process, not until the process has
run its course. The random elements can always make changes, even in the later steps.
